Professor John Pollard MB BS BSc(Med) PhD FRACP FRCP(Lond), is Emeritus Professor of Neurology at the University of Sydney, a Director of the Brain & Mind Research Institute and co-director of the Nerve Research Foundation. Professor Pollard practices as a general Neurologist but has particular interest in Neuromuscular disorders and Neuroimmunology – Multiple Sclerosis, Neuropathy, Myasthenia and Myopathy. |

Dr. Stephen Reddel, MB BS FRACP PhD, is a Staff Specialist Neurologist at Concord Repatriation & General Hospital with special clinics including Neuroimmunology / Myasthenia Gravis, Neuro-Ophthalmology and Neurogenetics. He was previously Fellow in Neurology at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, UK. His PhD examined the pathogenesis of the Antiphospholipid Syndrome and SLE. Dr Reddel practices as a general neurologist and has particular interests including Neuroimmunology & Myasthenia Gravis, Neuro-ophthalmology, Neuro-genetics and Stroke. |

Dr Michael Barnett, MB BS (Hons 1) FRACP PhD, is a staff neurologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Senior Lecturer in Neurology at the University of Sydney. He is appointed to the MS Society Clinic at BMRI and was previously Fellow and Locum Consultant in Neurology & Neuro-ophthalmology at the National Hospital for Neurology, London, UK. He holds a PhD in Multiple Sclerosis pathogenesis. Dr Barnett practices as a general Neurologist but has particular interests in Neuroimmunology & Multiple Sclerosis, Neuro-ophthalmology and Neurophysiology. |

Dr Jane Prosser, MB BS (Hons) FRACP, is a Staff Specialist in Neurology at St George and Sutherland Hospitals. She was previously the Stroke Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne/Royal Melbourne Hospital and Fellow in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology, London, UK. She is completing a PhD using MRI to examine the relationship between stroke and cardiac disease. Dr Prosser practices as a general Neurologist but has particular interests in stroke and vascular neurology, headache, cognitive and behavioural disorders and neurological disease in pregnancy. |

Professor Simon Hawke MBBS (Syd) DPhil (Oxon) FRACP is Consulting Neurologist at the BMRI and in central western NSW. He sees patients with all types of neurological disease, but has special expertise in virus infections of the CNS, MS, and the protein misfolding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. His research group at the BMRI is developing new technologies for transferring therapeutic genes into the CNS aimed at treating neurodegenerative disease, and studying how a disordered blood-brain barrier causes diseases such as MS. Professor Hawke was previously Consultant Neurologist, Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust in London and Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London UK. He is also the Director of the new MS Research Australia Brain Bank. |

Dr Judy Spies |

Dr Judy Spies is a Staff Specialist in Neurology and Director of the Autonomics Laboratory at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney; and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She completed her training in Neurology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and subsequently completed Fellowships in autonomic disorders and peripheral nerve disease at The Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins hospital respectively. Her PhD studies focused on the synergy of T and B cells in the pathogenesis of autoimmune neuropathies and generated several key publications in this area. More recent work has centered on autonomic dysfunction, particularly in the context of small fibre neuropathies. Dr Spies is a consultant Neurologist in the Multiple Sclerosis Society Clinic held at Sydney Neurology. |
